What the site is

Planet HoHo shows who brings the Christmas presents, and when, in the countries it covers. It adds local guides in the local language, markets and light displays, traditions, recipes and free tools for families. Facts such as dates, hours and addresses of public events are taken from the organiser or another original source; the source and the date it was read are named on the page.

Independence and trademarks

Planet HoHo is independent. It is not operated, endorsed or sponsored by any event, market, shop, brand, postal service or public body mentioned on its pages. Names of products, companies and services, and the trademarks of their owners, appear only to identify what is described. Where a well-known toy or character name has to be mentioned, it is mentioned once, as the name people commonly use, and the page says that it belongs to its owner. Elf on the Shelf, Scout Elf, Rudolph, Disney and the brand names of Christmas markets belong to their owners and are named only to describe what they are.

Customs are described, not ruled on

Gift-bringers, dates and local names are described as they are commonly observed. Customs differ by region, community and family: Germany alone splits between the Weihnachtsmann and the Christkind, and some countries have moved their gift day in recent years. Nothing here says how anyone ought to celebrate.

Corrections and removal

If a fact is wrong or out of date, such as a market date, an opening time or a custom, write to admin@planethoho.com and it will be corrected. If you own a place or home shown here and want an address or photo removed, write to the same address; we remove it within 48 hours.

Images

Photos by other authors, mostly from Wikimedia Commons and Flickr, are used under their free licences. Author and licence are named under each photo with a link to the original; photos may be resized or cropped. Illustrations made with AI image tools carry a label saying so and do not show real people or real events.

Colouring pages, printables and illustrations made by Planet HoHo may be printed and used at home, in classrooms and libraries and at non-commercial events. Please do not resell them or publish them as your own collection; a link back to the page you took them from is welcome.

Liability

The site links to external websites and has no control over them. It sells nothing, takes no orders and handles no payments. Event details can change at short notice, so confirm with the organiser before you travel.
